Sgn. Alexander John Simpson, formerly of the Northamptonshire Regiment, then HQ Troop of No.6 Commando.

Sgn. Alexander Simpson was reported as being Killed in Action (KIA) on 6th June 1944, aged 22.

He was the son of Charles Edward and Ellen Gertrude Simpson, and the husband of Mary Simpson of Huntingdon, and was laid to rest in Ranville War Cemmetry, Grave IVA.E.16.

The inscription on his headstone reads:

‘Until the day dawns’.
